Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003284
A vessel that removes entrained liquid droplets and solid particles from a gas stream, using gravity settling, baffles or a mist-extractor pad, and is usually installed ahead of compressors, meters or processing equipment. The knocked-out liquid drains from the bottom while the dry gas leaves at the top. A wet scrubber is a different unit that washes gas with a liquid to absorb contaminants.
