Scrubber

An air pollution control device that removes particulate matter and gases from industrial exhaust streams. It operates by bringing the polluted gas into contact with a liquid, which absorbs or reacts with the pollutants. Wet scrubbers are effective in removing sulfur dioxide and other acidic gases from flue gas.
