Pollutant standards index

A numerical scale used to report daily air quality, indicating how clean or polluted the air is and what associated health effects might be a concern. It is calculated for five major air pollutants: ground-level ozone, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide. The index is typically reported on a scale from 0 to 500, with higher values indicating greater pollution and health risk.
