Collar log

The recorded output from a casing collar locator tool, presented as a curve on a well log. This log shows sharp peaks or deflections that correspond to the physical location of each casing collar in a well. Because casing joints have standard lengths, the collar log provides a precise depth measurement and is run with almost every cased-hole wireline tool to correlate its position against the reservoir depth.
