Landing collar
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002119
A short section of casing with an internal shoulder, installed near the bottom of a casing string. This internal profile serves as a seat for the cement plugs that are pumped down after the primary cementing job is complete. The collar stops the bottom and top plugs, preventing over-displacement of cement and confirming that the operation has concluded successfully.
