Tubing testing tool

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003943

A downhole device run as part of the tubing string to allow for pressure testing of the tubing and its connections as it is being installed in the well. It works by creating a temporary seal within the tubing, enabling the operator to apply hydraulic pressure from the surface to the section of tubing above the tool to verify its integrity. This testing is performed incrementally, often after every few stands of tubing are run, to identify leaks at couplings before the final packer is set.
