Hydraulic packer
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001895
A downhole tool that creates a seal between the tubing and the casing by using hydraulic pressure to expand an elastomeric element. This pressure is typically applied by increasing the fluid pressure within the tubing string. Hydraulic packers are frequently used in completions where mechanical manipulation of the tubing is undesirable or impractical, such as in deviated wells.
