Compression-set packer
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000790
A type of downhole packer that is set by applying downward compressive force to expand an elastomeric element against the casing wall, creating a seal. This mechanical action isolates zones within the annulus, preventing fluid movement between them. Compression-set packers are commonly used in production and injection wells for zonal isolation.
