Round thread

A common type of screw thread profile used on casing and tubing connections, characterized by its rounded crests and roots. This design provides good mechanical strength and resistance to galling during makeup. API (American Petroleum Institute) specifications define standard round thread forms, such as 8-round and 10-round.
