Solution gasdrive
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003503
A natural reservoir drive mechanism where the expansion of dissolved gas provides the energy to move crude oil to the wellbore. As reservoir pressure falls below the bubble point, gas comes out of solution throughout the reservoir, forming bubbles that expand and displace the oil. This drive is characterized by a rapidly increasing gas-oil ratio after the bubble point is reached and relatively low ultimate oil recovery, with recovery factors in the range of 5 to 25 percent.
