Bubblepoint
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000478
The pressure at which the first bubble of gas comes out of solution from a liquid hydrocarbon mixture at a given temperature. Below this pressure, free gas begins to evolve from the oil, which can significantly affect fluid flow and recovery mechanisms in a reservoir. This point is a key parameter in reservoir engineering and production forecasting.
