Undersaturated fluid
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003983
A fluid, usually crude oil, that holds less dissolved gas than it could at its current pressure and temperature, so it exists as a single liquid phase at reservoir conditions. An undersaturated oil is above its bubble point pressure, and gas first appears when pressure falls to the bubble point. Many oil reservoirs begin life undersaturated, with initial pressure well above the bubble point.
