Undershooting

A seismic acquisition technique for imaging beneath a surface obstruction, such as a production platform, river or protected area, where sources or receivers cannot be placed. Sources are positioned on one side of the obstruction and receivers on the other, or the two are offset widely, so that the reflection points lie underneath it.
