Perpendicular offset
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004407
The horizontal distance measured at a right angle from a seismic source line to a receiver line. This geometric parameter is used in seismic survey design to define the spatial relationship between sources and receivers. Maintaining consistent perpendicular offsets is part of achieving uniform subsurface illumination during data acquisition.
