Permittivity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002754
A measure of a material's ability to store electrical energy in an electric field, influencing the speed of electromagnetic waves. In geophysics, it is a key parameter in ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and electromagnetic (EM) surveys, affecting the propagation of radar signals through the subsurface. Permittivity is expressed in farads per meter (F/m).
