Offset well
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002590
A well drilled in proximity to an existing well to gather geological data, evaluate a different part of the same reservoir, or prevent drainage of reserves by a neighboring operator. Data from nearby offset wells, including logs, drilling parameters, and production history, provide valuable information for planning the new well's trajectory, casing program, and completion design. A direct offset well is located in an adjacent spacing unit.
