Bubble effect
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000476
A phenomenon in marine seismic data caused by the oscillation of the gas bubble generated after an airgun discharge. This oscillation produces secondary seismic pulses that interfere with the primary reflections, creating unwanted multiples and ghost reflections. Bubble suppressors or deconvolution techniques are applied to mitigate this effect.
