Primary recovery method

The initial phase of hydrocarbon production from a reservoir, relying on natural reservoir energy to drive oil and gas to the wellbore. This energy comes from natural gas expansion, water drive, or gravity drainage. Primary recovery typically extracts between 5% and 30% of the original oil in place.
