Injection pattern
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001988
The geometric arrangement of injection wells relative to production wells in a reservoir during fluid injection operations. Common patterns include five-spot, seven-spot, nine-spot, and line drive, each designed to achieve efficient fluid sweep. The choice of pattern depends on reservoir characteristics such as heterogeneity, permeability, and fluid properties.
