Flooding pattern
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001465
The geometric arrangement of injection and production wells in a reservoir for waterflooding or other enhanced oil recovery methods. Common patterns include five-spot, nine-spot, line drive, and inverted seven-spot, each chosen based on reservoir characteristics and fluid properties. The pattern influences the sweep efficiency and the rate at which injected fluids displace oil.
