Off-pattern well

A well drilled outside the regular geometric arrangement of injection and production wells in a developed enhanced oil recovery flood pattern. These wells are used to improve sweep efficiency in areas not adequately covered by the primary pattern. They can be strategically placed to target bypassed oil or to adjust fluid flow paths.
