Sweep efficiency
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003721
A measure of how effectively an injected fluid displaces oil from a reservoir, considering both areal and vertical coverage. It quantifies the portion of the reservoir contacted by the injected fluid during a displacement process. This efficiency is influenced by reservoir heterogeneity, fluid properties, and injection patterns, and is expressed as a percentage.
