Areal displacement efficiency
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000174
The effectiveness of a fluid injection process in displacing oil from a reservoir rock within a specific area. It quantifies how much of the oil initially present in the swept area is actually moved by the injected fluid. This efficiency is influenced by factors such as fluid properties, rock heterogeneity, and the mobility ratio between the displacing and displaced fluids.
