Mobility ratio

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002405

The ratio of the mobility of the displacing fluid to the mobility of the displaced fluid in a reservoir. A mobility ratio less than or equal to one is generally desired for stable displacement and efficient oil recovery. It is calculated as the ratio of the permeability of the displacing fluid divided by its viscosity, to the permeability of the displaced fluid divided by its viscosity.
