Volumetric displacement efficiency
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004064
The fraction of the pore volume within the swept zone of a reservoir from which oil has been displaced by an injected fluid. It quantifies how effectively the displacing fluid removes oil from the rock matrix in the areas it contacts. This efficiency is a key component in calculating overall oil recovery and is influenced by fluid properties and rock characteristics.
