Pump volumetric efficiency
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003001
The ratio of the actual fluid volume delivered by a pump to the theoretical volume it should deliver based on its displacement, expressed as a percentage. This efficiency accounts for losses due to slippage, gas interference, and other factors that reduce the effective pumping rate. It is a key indicator of pump performance and health.
