Injection pressure
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001989
The fluid pressure at the wellhead or sandface of an injection well, required to force fluids into a target reservoir formation. This pressure must overcome the natural reservoir pressure, the hydrostatic head of the fluid column, and any frictional losses in the tubing and perforations. The maximum allowable injection pressure is regulated and determined by the formation's fracture gradient to prevent uncontrolled fracturing into unintended zones.
