Surface pressure
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003700
The pressure measured at the wellhead of a producing, injection, or shut-in well. For a flowing well, this is the tubing head pressure or casing head pressure, reflecting the force exerted by the fluid column and any applied backpressure. In a shut-in well, the surface pressure combined with the hydrostatic weight of the fluid column in the wellbore is used to estimate the bottomhole pressure.
