Head
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001797
The height of a column of fluid that corresponds to a given pressure, expressed as a length such as feet or meters, and equal to the pressure divided by the product of the fluid density and the acceleration of gravity. The hydrostatic pressure of a column is the reverse calculation, density times gravity times height. A column of fresh water gives about 0.433 psi per foot of height.
