Bottomhole pressure
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000420
The fluid pressure at the deepest point of a well, equal to the hydrostatic pressure of the fluid column plus annular friction while circulating and any surface pressure held on the well. Engineers compare it with pore pressure and fracture pressure to keep a well under control. It is expressed in pounds per square inch (psi) or kilopascals (kPa), and in a static column equals fluid density times true vertical depth times gravitational acceleration.
