Bottomhole static temperature
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000423
The temperature of the formation at the bottom of the wellbore when the well is in a static, undisturbed state, without fluid circulation. This temperature reflects the natural geothermal gradient of the earth at that depth. BHST is used for reservoir characterization, designing downhole equipment, and predicting fluid properties under reservoir conditions.
