Bottomhole circulating temperature
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000416
The temperature of the fluid at the base of a well after pumping has continued for some hours. Circulation carries heat up the annulus, so the value normally sits below the static formation temperature at that depth, though very deep hot wells can reverse the order. Cement slurries are tested at this temperature for thickening time and fluid loss, and it is estimated from API correlations or read from downhole sensors.
