Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000326

The temperature of the drilling fluid at the bottom of the wellbore during circulation, abbreviated as Bottomhole Circulating Temperature. It is measured or estimated to predict the performance of downhole tools, fluids, and cement slurries under operational conditions. This temperature is lower than the bottomhole static temperature (BHST) because the continuous flow of drilling mud from the surface has a cooling effect on the formation.
