Formation pressure

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001538

The pressure exerted by fluids within the pore spaces of a rock formation at a given depth. This pressure is a key factor in well design and drilling operations, as it dictates the mud weight required to prevent influxes. It is typically measured in pounds per square inch (psi) or kilopascals (kPa).
