Surface pressure

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011659

The reduction in surface tension of a liquid caused by the presence of a monolayer of adsorbed molecules at its interface. It is the difference between the surface tension of the pure liquid and that of the liquid with the adsorbed film. This quantity is typically measured in millinewtons per meter.
