Marangoni effect

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006953

The transfer of mass along an interface between two fluids due to a gradient in surface tension. This gradient can be caused by variations in temperature, concentration, or electrical potential. It drives fluid flow from regions of lower surface tension to regions of higher surface tension.
