Wetting tension

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012687

The force per unit length acting along the line of contact between a liquid and a solid surface, representing the tendency of the liquid to spread or retract. It is related to the surface tension of the liquid and the interfacial tension between the liquid and the solid. A higher wetting tension indicates better wetting of the surface by the liquid.
