Wetting

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012686

The extent to which a liquid spreads across a solid surface, determined by the balance of adhesive and cohesive forces. It describes the affinity of a liquid for a solid, influencing how well the two phases interact. The contact angle formed by the liquid droplet on the surface is a quantitative measure of this phenomenon.
