Wetland

An area of land saturated with water, either permanently or seasonally, leading to characteristic ecosystems. These environments support aquatic plants and animals adapted to hydric soils and waterlogged conditions. Wetlands are classified based on their hydrological regime and vegetation, such as marshes, swamps, and bogs.
