Solid angle

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010988

A measure of the extent of a cone-like region in three-dimensional space, subtended by an object at a point. It is defined as the area of the projection of the object onto a unit sphere centered at the point, divided by the square of the sphere's radius. The SI unit for solid angle is the steradian (sr).
