SIBHP
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003394
The pressure at the bottom of a wellbore when it is shut in at the surface, representing the total pressure exerted by the formation. This Shut-In Bottomhole Pressure (SIBHP) is a key parameter in well testing and pressure transient analysis, used to determine reservoir characteristics like permeability and skin factor. It is calculated by adding the surface shut-in pressure to the hydrostatic pressure of the fluid column in the well.
