SIBP
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003395
The pressure at the bottom of a well that has been closed in at the Christmas tree or blowout preventer stack, equal to the surface pressure plus the hydrostatic pressure of the fluid column. It rises toward formation pressure as the well stabilizes. After a kick it is calculated by adding the shut-in drill pipe pressure to the hydrostatic pressure of the mud inside the drill string.
