Shut-in pressure
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003390
The pressure measured in a wellbore after the well has been closed off at the surface, allowing the fluid column to become static. This pressure stabilizes over time and provides an indication of the reservoir pressure. It is a key parameter for reservoir engineering calculations and well testing.
