Christmas tree

An assembly of valves, spools, and fittings installed on the wellhead of a completed oil or gas well to control the flow of hydrocarbons. It regulates production, allows for well intervention, and provides access for pressure monitoring. This equipment is named for its resemblance to a decorated tree.
