Tree saver

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003916

A high-pressure isolation tool that stabs into the tubing hanger or casing bore of a wellhead so that fracturing fluid and proppant pass directly into the well, bypassing the Christmas tree. It protects valves, seals and the wellhead from treating pressures above their rating and from erosion by abrasive slurry. A tree saver is installed before a fracturing or acidizing job and removed afterward, and the related casing saver does the same for the casing head.
