Wing valve

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004162

One of two side valves on the Christmas tree assembly, located on the flow arms extending from the central master valve block. These valves control the flow of hydrocarbons from the well into the production flowline or choke. During normal production, one wing valve is open while the other remains closed, providing a redundant path for flow or a connection point for well testing.
