Inside blowout preventer

A one-way valve installed in the drill string to control flow up the pipe during a well control event, acting as an internal barrier against a kick. The valve allows drilling fluid to be pumped down into the well but automatically closes to block any upward flow. This device is typically kept on the rig floor, ready to be stabbed into the top joint of the drill string when needed.
