Injection pulsed neutron log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001990
A pulsed neutron capture log run in an injection well and compared against a baseline run, using the formation capture cross section (sigma) to show where injected fluid has gone. A high-capture tracer such as borax solution, or injected seawater whose salinity differs from the formation water, changes sigma where it enters. The difference between runs outlines the injection profile.
