Pulsed neutron spectroscopy log

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002994

A well log that measures the elemental composition of formations by analyzing gamma rays emitted after the capture of neutrons. A pulsed neutron generator emits high-energy neutrons, which interact with formation nuclei, causing them to emit characteristic gamma rays. This log provides information on lithology, porosity, and fluid saturation, particularly in cased holes where conventional resistivity logs are ineffective.
