Pulsed neutron spectroscopy measurement

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002995

A well logging technique that uses a pulsed neutron generator to irradiate formations and measure the energy spectrum of gamma rays emitted during neutron interactions. This method provides elemental concentrations, such as carbon, oxygen, silicon, and calcium, which are used to determine lithology, porosity, and fluid saturation. It is particularly effective in cased holes where other logging methods are limited.
